TIFFANY TATE
Tate is a student of wide-ranging spiritual and mystic traditions, sourcing concepts from Scotland, Tibet, and contemporary interpretations of historical teachings. While the totality of her project combines freelance design and a seasonal wellness workbook, titled Amber, the facets of her practice are interconnected. In Entangled Timelines her designs layer iconic symbols, hand-drawn forms, imagery from archaeological texts, open-source digital models and more. The result is an eclectic combination of both sacred and secular imagery signaling recognizable messages in juxtaposition. Tate writes, “The human mind has the capacity to consciously (re)create history, identity and reality, on both personal and collective scales when empowered to do so.” Tate’s designs are an invitation to recognize the fluidity of a narrative and to encourage exploration into one’s own malleable identity.
